The Taiwanese wine market is among the top five in Asia. In 2022, the consumption volume stood at 18.2 million liters, with a value of over 550 million euros. Furthermore, the island offers interesting prospects for imported wines, which grew by 18% in both 2021 and 2022, reaching a value of 264 million euros. Italian wines, in particular, have shown very interesting performance in recent years, with double-digit growth rates (+18% in 2021, +28% in 2022), securing the 2nd position among suppliers, with 28.7 million euros, second only to France. French wines, in fact, represent 53.9% of the imported wine market with 140 million euros. A special mention goes to the performance of sparkling wines, which was the best-performing category, reaching an import value of 32.9 million euros, with a volume growth of 24% compared to the previous year and a value growth of 18.6%. In this category as well, Italy ranks firmly in 2nd place after France, with an export value in 2022 of 4.45 million euros, an increase of 39%.
